Professional Marriage Celebrant Brisbane

Hi, I’m Ryan, and I'm a marriage celebrant based in Brisbane.

Congratulations! You have found that special person. That special person you want to spend the rest of your life with and, you’re here because you need a marriage celebrant to make it official.

I’m an engaging, fun and experienced registered marriage celebrant who you hire if you want a quality, enjoyable and memorable marriage ceremony.

We could talk about me, but the truth is, it’s not about me, it’s ALL about you and how I can make your day extra special.

Quality Ceremonies Made Easy with Ryan The Marriage Celebrant

Let’s face it, planning a wedding is stressful. At this point, you’ve probably scrolled through countless Instagram accounts, pinning posts on Pinterest and searching for Brisbane marriage celebrants.

So maybe a little peace of mind from a marriage celebrant would be a good start? Rest assured, I have done this many times before.

Peace of mind is knowing that I am here to guide you and your fiancé to ensure that your ceremony is not only a memorable one but all the legal requirements are met before and after your big day. So you can rely on me to get the job right the first time.

We know that nerves can get the better of people on the day. Because I know for sure that your fiancé will be lost for words once he sees you walking down that aisle. So you need a reliable celebrant to help him along the way.

Plus, you’ll have the support and attention to ensure that you, your fiancé and your celebrant are on the same page for a seamless and stress-free event. That’s my two ears, one mouth approach to effective communication.

And if you want to add a little bit of tradition or perhaps a ritual in your ceremony, I am more than happy to do so. Because you have the right to practice your belief and have it done your way.

If you want a memorable or perhaps a funny ceremony (if that’s your thing) then allow me the pleasure to marry you.

The Wedding Process

Before we can begin planning your perfect ceremony, let’s discuss the serious part of planning a wedding; the legal process of getting married.

Step 1) Introductory Meeting

Choosing the right marriage celebrant is a very personal and important decision. Which is why a phone appointment is a great way to establish a connection before we consider booking a face-to-face meeting.

If you would like to have a chat, please fill out your details in the enquiry form on the Contact Ryan page and, you can expect a response from me within 24 hours.

The phone meeting is your opportunity to ask me as many questions as you like. And if you feel that I’m the right one for you, I will email you all the required paperwork for our face-to-face meeting.

Following this, we’ll pencil in a date and time to meet at your place of residence. And since I’m located in Brisbane, I’m happy to travel.

Step 2) Planning and Documentation Meeting

This is where we deal with the legal and planning of the main event.

First, you must submit your completed Notice of Intended Marriage form. This is so I can lodge to Births, Deaths and Marriages Brisbane.

Next, we go through the identification process.

The following are documents you must provide for me to sight:

If you’re born in Australia:

If you were born outside Australia:

And for those special circumstances regarding birth certificates:

My name is different: You’re required to bring a previous Marriage or Change of Name Certification issued by Births, Deaths & Marriages. Don’t worry because they have an office in Brisbane.

I don’t have one: You’re required to fill out a Statutory Declaration and have a Justice of Peace (JP) to certify. Use the following link to find a JP in your area.

My documentation is in another language: You’re required to have a NAATI-qualified to certify the documents.

Now that we have your identification documents completed, let’s take a look at your current marital status. You’re required to provide the following documentation to prove that you’re in a legal position to wed.

If never previously married:

If divorced:

If a widow/widower:

Phew, that wasn’t so bad.

Now the exciting part! Let’s plan your perfect ceremony.

We’ll cover the following:

The ceremony script does not have to be finalised right there and then. You have a chance to go over it after the meeting and customise it to suit you.

Once all the major details have been sorted, full payment will be required at this time. This is to secure your booking and lodgement of your Notice of Intended Marriage form.

Please note that a 50% deposit is refundable, provided that you give me at least one calendar months’ notice. Visit the Fees page for more information.

After our meeting, you’ll need to email your ceremony script for proofreading. This must be completed at least one week before your rehearsal date.

Step 3) Rehearsal

It’s a good idea to invite key participants to your rehearsal. This is to ensure that everyone knows what to expect.

It’s recommended that this takes place at the same venue of your ceremony. If that can’t be arranged, then a convenient location will do.

This rehearsal goes for 60 minutes so be sure to bring your script with you.

Step 4) On The Day of The Wedding

After the planning and preparation, it’s your time to shine!

Here’s what you can expect from me:

Step 5) After The Wedding Ceremony

While you’re out celebrating as newlyweds, I’ll register your marriage with QLD Births, Deaths and Marriages.

You can also visit the same website if you would like to order a Marriage Certificate.

Congratulations to you both!
